CrackHead: The Diary of a Lost Soul
Here is an sample of my book:
"The sounds of car horns awake Sundance into the real world. He wonders, “What day is it?” He looks around the apartment and thinks about all the money he has spent over the last couple of days. “Damn, I did it again,” thinks Sundance. There are only a few familiar faces from the neighborhood. Most people are either staring off into space or sleep. Empty crack bags are everywhere. A good looking female is walking around the room picking up the crack bags in hope of finding something. Some bags have a few crumbs which are only a tease to a real crackhead. There are burnt out butane lighters everywhere. The whole room stinks."

"The woman who was picking up the empty bags looks at Sundance and says, “Baby, I need a hit. Can you help me out? I will do whatever you say.”
Sundance says “I don’t have any more rocks.”
“I will suck your **** for two dollars, baby,” says the female.
Sundance looks at her in disgust. “Two damn dollars,” he thinks to himself. Sundance says, “Leave me alone”. She leaves and searches for more empty bags on the floor. Sundance reaches for his wallet and opens it. It is empty. “Spent all of my check again,” says Sundance. It is a viscous cycle.
Sundance can barely walk down the steps to the street. His legs are cramped from sitting on those hard floors for days at a time. Once outside, he asks somebody, “What time is it?”
A well dressed young man probably on his way to work replies, “Eight-thirty”.
“Damn,” says Sundance, “I'm late again. I should have been to work at eight o’clock. I guess I will be calling in sick again.”

"A familiar voice calls Sundance from across the street. He reluctantly crosses the street and greets Elder Tyrone. He is well dressed with nice suits and shoes to match. And a nice tie to go with the suit.
Elder Tyrone is the pastor of the local church on the block. “Praise the Lord,” says Elder Tyrone, “Where are you headed, Sundance?”
Sundance says to Elder Tyrone, “To work.”
Elder Tyrone says, “Why don’t you come to church next Sunday and see what the Lord can do for you, son? Don’t you know God loves you?”
Sundance says, “Yeah, maybe. I have got to go now. See you around Reverend.”
